Kourtney Kardashian: (Not) Marrying in Mexico!

On the same day that Khloe Kardashian dismissed rumors that she may get divorced, and chatter spread that Kim Kardashian might wed Kanye West, a new tabloid story says Kourtney Kardashian is about to tie the knot with Scott Disick,

In Mexico. At friend Joe Francis' estate.

“They signed a $1 million deal with E! to get married on TV,” an insider tells In Touch Weekly, adding that Kourtney and Scott will soon get engaged “in an orchestrated, well-publicized manner."

The only problem with this report? Kourtney's rep says it isn't true.

Then again, isn't that exactly what Kourtney's rep would say if the engagement were meant to be a surprise?!?

59% of iPhone and iPad app developers reportedly don?t break even on costs

A recent survey by a marketing firm called App-Promo shows that 59% of developers don't manage to make enough money from app sales to break even on costs, and 80% don't generate enough revenue to support a standalone business. 68% earned $5000 or less from their top app, while 12% earned $50,000 or more. ?Those top earners have around $30,000 set aside for a marketing budget. ?64.5% of the apps created by those surveyed were paid, while 39.5% relied on advertising and 32.9% were freemium or lite versions of full apps.

Nokia gets it: launches patent lawsuits against HTC, RIM and Viewsonic

Nokia has just announced that it is commencing patent litigation against HTC, Research in Motion and Viewsonic in the US and Germany. It's claiming that a number of its patents are being infringed and has registered complaints with the ITC and courts in Delaware, Dusseldorf, Munich and Mannheim. Espoo's legal chief Louise Pentland has said that while the company currently licenses its FRAND patents to "more than 40 companies," it had no choice but to lay some courtroom smack-down on the named offenders. It appears that after losing its global market share crown and billion-dollar losses, the company is finally going on the offensive with its deep patent portfolio. Update: We've received some clarification from Nokia on what exactly is on the docket here. "Four of the patents asserted against Viewsonic in Mannheim are standards essential. The rest against Viewsonic and all against HTC and RIM are implementation patents, not declared essential to any standard and so we have no obligation to grant licenses."

Google's Language Immersion Chrome extension translates random text to teach foreign lingo

Berlitz may be the best way to learn a foreign language, but most of us have neither the time nor the ability to fully immerse ourselves in the vocabulary of another country. Hot on the heels of Gmail's automatic translation feature hitting the big time, Google's Translate team has crafted a Chrome extension to make language learning a bit more accessible. The extension does the trick by translating random portions of text to any of its 64 supported languages, so that your native tongue is interspersed with the lingo you're learning. Users have a sliding scale to set their knowledge level from novice to fluent, and can roll over translated words to hear how they should be pronounced. Interested?
