Question by Jen a Cat Captain: Is it authorised to caring for a meercat as a house house pet in Illinois?
My colleague is articulate about her baby meercat?It?s utterly lerned as well as even spawn trained. (It?s so tiny which it?s litterbox is a dog food bowl!)
Her father brought it home (he functions during a wildlife park), though she has no thought if it?s authorised or not, haha. They have it in a really vast tri-level seek out enclosure now. we figured I?d give it a shot as well as ask y?all upon Yahoo if any a single has an thought as to either or not it?s legal, hah.
I know, it?s a shot in a dark, though we never know who has which pointless pieces of invalid knowledge!
Anyone know?
P.S. we have no thought if a meercat is essentially a cat or not, though Yahoo pronounced it was (defaulted to a ?Cats? setion?) so I?ll only go with that!

Since it is not directed towards a ?dangerous animal,? it would appear to be OK if this site is correct as well as up to date:
