Press Release Source: MISI Company on Thursday September 8, 2011, 1:41 pm EDT

PHILADELPHIA?(BUSINESS WIRE)? MISI?s Experience Design (XD) team will be co-leading the in-conference workshop on change management that will open CBI?s Life Sciences Commercial IT Summit on Cloud and Mobile Initiatives, September 15-16, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA. the workshop ? Change Management: Prepare Internal Teams for Implementation of new Tools and Platforms ? will be co-led by Ray Milora, Director Customer Experience, Core Business Services for the global pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline and MISI XD Account Director Lisa Woodley.

Milora was on the GSK leadership team that oversaw the largest implementation at the time of Microsoft?s cloud computing solution, MS Office 365. He will speak to GSK?s experience. ?Technology solutions based on firm understanding of customers? needs and desires solve problems,? he says, ?and in the end have little to do with the technology used to do so.?

Woodley was part of the MISI team that performed research to provide a global, cross-functional snapshot of GSK?s employee population. MISI?s overview became a source of strategic guidance throughout the migration to MS Office 365, particularly with regard to communication and training initiatives. ?On paper, streamlining IT, simplifying back end systems, migrating to the cloud can provide significant cost-savings,? Woodley notes, ?but these initiatives don?t deliver true strategic value unless they are centered around enabling employees to share information, collaborate more effectively, and work faster-better-smarter to deliver on their piece of the business value chain.?

the workshop will include a series of interactive group exercises moderated by a team of MISI?s experience designers that includes Woodley, Account Director Jerilyn MacLaren-Hall, and Experience Architect Liana Dragoman. the group breakouts will explore three major themes: Influencing Perceptions, Effective Training and Employee Interaction, and Managing Cultural Change. Activities will give attendees firsthand exposure to the work that should be done with employees in anticipation of and following large IT projects to ensure an organization realizes the desired results of the implementation.

Keane, also an NTT Data company, will be joining MISI in their conference booth to represent the technology side of cloud and mobile solutions. Keane offers best-of-breed cloud computing and data center hosting solutions on private, public, and hybrid cloud platforms with specific expertise in the Life Sciences. Keane?s portfolio also includes Keane Optimum Mobile, a cloud-based solution that enables customers to access patient data from their facility?s suite of Keane Optimum applications and exchange data with a variety of community healthcare facilities, health information exchanges (HIEs), and other sites using secure Web technology.
