?

Cary Wise?is seeking the Texas SD?53, House of Representatives, seat. SD?53 includes: Medina, Bandera, Kerr, Mason, Edwards, Real, Crockett, Schleicher, Sutton, Menardm Llano?and Kimble counties.

?

Interstate Compacts (objective: shield state regulatory autonomy from federal interference, e.g., ObamaCare, EPA environmental meddling, etc.) What is the candidate?s position on interstate compacts?

?

Cary Wise: I believe that interstate compacts could be very beneficial to the people of Texas. However, compacts should be approached carefully and completed only with the approval of the citizens of Texas by?popular vote.?Voter approval will allow the people of Texas to be fully aware of any pending compacts as well as to serve as oversight to the Texas legislature.

Border security and immigration (legal and illegal). ?There is a tremendous amount of concern and anxiety amongTexas citizens concerning illegal immigration, border transgressions and violence to include the cost to legal citizens to maintain illegal immigrants in this country.

The federal government (Article One, Section 8; US Constitution) is tasked to defend the borders. In reality, the Texas DPS is expending tremendous effort (at tremendous cost) to do the job the federal government is formally tasked to do. Consequently, many have suggestedTexassubmit the bill for its self defense to the federal government.

What is your position on border security and immigration as well as the idea ofTexasbilling the federal government for services rendered?

?

Cary Wise: The federal government has failed to secure our border and it has become clear that they have no intention to do so. Our border must be secured immediately and illegal immigration must be stopped! Legal immigration laws are set and in place and must be adhered to. The Texas legislature must also remove all welfare for illegal immigrants along with all funding of school support for children of illegal immigrants. These changes will curb the desire to enter Texas illegally as well as save Texas billions of dollars. The Texas legislature should bill the federal government for border security expenses until the situation is corrected and the federal government upholds its constitutional responsibilities.

?

EPA transgressions upon Texas state sovereignty. In your opinion, should the federal Environmental Protection Agency have: (a) sole legal jurisdiction overTexas environmental management issues, or; (b) should this responsibility lie with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, or; (c) should this be a shared jurisdiction? Explain.

?

Cary Wise: The EPA and other federal agencies are being used to unconstitutionally interfere with the?rights of Texas?that are?explicitly given to the state. The state legislature must pass bills declaring these intrusions by the federal government unacceptable and unconstitutional. Texas must retain its sovereignty by telling these agencies that they must leave Texas. Texas should have sole control of its environmental issues, with strict oversight of all agencies by the Texas legislature.
